BREWING INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN – Sab Vacancies

About the Role

The Brewing Instrument Technician is responsible for the optimization and modification of process control systems, ensuring quality equipment operates efficiently, reliably, and safely. This role provides technical expertise, supports plant improvements, and drives operational excellence.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Collaborate daily with production teams to resolve quality equipment issues
• Assist in the implementation of plant and process improvement projects
• Standby duties to be available for call-outs when required
• Perform specialized maintenance on quality equipment, including calibration, setup, and complex component replacement
• Ensure availability of critical spares and recommend maintenance regimes
• Verify and validate quality equipment operation
• Use SAP and other systems to analyze data and identify deviations from process capability
• Manage Sigga/SAP maintenance schedules and ensure compliance
• Apply Problem Terminator methodology (previously 5 WHY) for issue resolution
• Develop and maintain equipment performance reports (ERI)
• Create and maintain SOPs and SWIs in Acadia
• Support breakdown management and instrument setup for new product development (NPD)
• Liaise with suppliers (SPP) for technical support and spares
• Support development of training materials and coach operational teams on optimal equipment operation
• Provide specialist expertise and diagnostic skills for problem-solving
• Assist in compiling maintenance budgets, including spares stock holding
• Continuously improve technical knowledge to apply best practices in operating and maintaining quality equipment
• Ensure a safe, healthy, and risk-free working environment and actively support VPO initiatives

Key Attributes and Competencies

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Team player with good administration and problem-solving skills
• Solid technical knowledge and self-management skills
• Proficient in SAP and Excel

Minimum Requirements

• N6/National Diploma with Trade Test Qualification in Instrumentation and Control
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in instrumentation equipment maintenance; PLC experience advantageous
