Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a qualified Beauty Therapist to join the Pretoria Salon. The role involves creating awareness of Dis-Chem’s skincare and body treatments, delivering professional client care, and ensuring an exceptional salon experience for all customers.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• 2-year relevant National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum 12 months’ technical/practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment
• Computer literate with sound numerical skills
• Willingness to work retail hours

Advantageous:

• 3-year relevant National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum 3 years’ technical/practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide customers with excellent salon experiences
• Perform facials, waxing, massages, manicures, and pedicures according to Dis-Chem standards
• Address and provide feedback on customer queries, complaints, and compliments
• Stay updated on new products, treatments, and service techniques
• Manage salon stock levels effectively
• Ensure all salon equipment is operational and sanitary at all times

Competencies

Essential:

• Knowledge of skin anatomy, physiology, and treatment contraindications
• Strong command of English (written and oral)
• Team player with excellent customer relations
• Deadline- and target-driven

Advantageous:

• Experience with soft laser, bio-magnetic therapy, microdermabrasion, slimming treatments, and spray tanning
• Training in additional salon equipment or laser treatments
• Bilingual skills

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Willing to work retail hours and travel to and from the store
• Physically fit to perform massage, facial, and body treatments
• South African citizen
• Clear credit and criminal records
