Job Description

Pepkor is seeking a skilled QA Software Test Engineer to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. This role involves designing, executing, and maintaining both manual and automated test cases, performing root cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement across the QA process. You will collaborate with software and systems teams, contribute to Agile product lifecycles, and mentor junior team members to uphold quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop manual and automated test cases according to established QA standards.
• Conduct thorough problem-solving and root cause analysis for defects.
• Track and manage defects from discovery through resolution, ensuring timely closure.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the QA team.
• Stay up to date with emerging testing tools and technologies, evaluating their applicability.
• Apply quality assurance principles throughout the Agile product lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain testing frameworks to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Present demos and testing results to stakeholders and team members.
• Work independently and manage multiple testing initiatives.
• Coach and mentor junior QA team members.
• Collaborate with software and systems personnel on system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing.
• Manage stakeholders effectively, ensuring clear communication of testing progress and results.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• 5–8 years’ experience in software testing or a similar role.
• ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Qualification.
• Experience with project management and QA methodologies.

Technical Skills

• Manual testing expertise.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and QA integration.
• Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Zephyr, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
• API and mobile device testing experience.
• Basic SQL knowledge for data validation and analysis.
• Knowledge of QA and bug tracking tools and methodologies.
• Experience with test case scripting and understanding of automation frameworks.
