Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Warehouse Management and/or Supply Chain diploma, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in warehouse management.
- Advanced working knowledge of WMS, including CargoWrite.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Job-Related Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with strong working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.
- Proven experience within the Retail Logistics sector.
- Extensive hands-on operational expertise across inbound, stock management, outbound and order fulfilment, returns processing, packaging, and warehouse housekeeping in line with 5S standards.
- Strong understanding of batch and expiry control, including FEFO principles.
- Comprehensive stock management experience, including:
- Perpetual and wall-to-wall stock audits.
- SKU master data maintenance and SKU consolidation.
- Slotting strategies based on ABC analysis, volumetrics, and product categorization.
- Space utilization, storage density optimization, and measurement.
- Pick-face replenishment strategies.
- Batch, serial number, and expiry date management.
- Daily system variance analysis between warehouse and client systems.
- Strong problem-solving capability, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Proven ability to independently manage all managerial functions, including planning, organizing, leading, controlling, and monitoring.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively manage internal and external customer expectations.
- Full compliance management with DSV policies, regulations, work instructions, maintenance schedules, and local authority requirements.
- Effective stress and conflict management skills with the ability to perform under sustained pressure.
- Sound knowledge of SHERQ requirements, including internal auditing, health and safety compliance, environmental management, and risk mitigation.
- Basic working knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 18001.
- Strong commercial acumen to manage client and supplier contracts, SLAs, and associated risks.
- Financial management capability with strong cost control to meet or exceed budget targets.
- Proven HR and IR capability, including performance management, training, discipline, and employee engagement, with intermediate knowledge of industrial relations processes.

Main Purpose of the Role
The Manager, Operations is responsible for maintaining operational performance in line with client service level agreements and internal KPIs. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement, productivity, cost savings, and effective management of operations, people, quality, safety, and financial performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain discipline and manage staff performance through structured performance measurement.
- Ensure effective maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Consistently meet and exceed client expectations within the scope of agreed service levels.
- Actively manage daily operational performance to achieve all productivity and quality targets.
- Develop and implement employee development plans and ensure completion against objectives.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Support clients with customized solutions and continuous improvement initiatives within existing and expanded scope.
- Plan and execute cycle counts, ABC analysis counts, and other stock processes in line with KPIs and contractual obligations.
- Investigate operational deviations and complete CAPA documentation, including issues related to nil picks, error rates, and KPI variances.
- Create, maintain, and distribute operational reports in line with contractual and KPI requirements.
- Ensure full adherence to HSE responsibilities and compliance standards.
- Support audit compliance and perform ad hoc duties as required by operational demands.
- Maintain clear and continuous communication with clients regarding supply and operational matters.
- Build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
- Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly inbound and outbound operational meetings with clients.
- Identify, control, and mitigate risks associated with value-added service activities.
- Monitor inventory levels and take corrective action to address shortages or imbalances.
- Ensure material master data and bin master records are accurately maintained and updated.
- Manage quarantined and damaged stock, including inspections, scrapping, and documentation processes.
- Ensure inventory processes are consistently followed across operational and administrative teams.
- Manage facility cleaning, housekeeping, and general maintenance standards.
