About the Program
Truworths is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Clerk to join the Office Banking and Treasury team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role focuses on managing foreign banking operations, supporting banking systems, and ensuring the accurate and timely completion of month-end banking processes. This position is ideal for a team player who can manage multiple deadlines, solve problems effectively, and communicate confidently with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile all company bank and general ledger accounts within stipulated timelines, resolving and reporting discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures when handling documentation and resolving store-related queries.
  • Integrate new business developments, such as new stores, bank accounts, acquisitions, and tender types, into reconciliation processes.
  • Liaise with foreign banking institutions regarding charges and cash-related queries.
  • Resolve all queries within required timeframes and ensure KPI targets are met.
  • Provide support to the banking team when required.
  • Assist with internal and external audit processes.
  • Collaborate with departments such as payroll, customer services, tax, and accounts payable to reconcile bank transactions.
  • Utilize banking systems to track accounts, manage transactions, and generate reports.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric with solid work experience.
  • Post-matric finance qualification advantageous.
  • Experience in a retail finance environment is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of general finance processes, including bank reconciliations, foreign currency transactions, and resolving banking discrepancies.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
