Job Title: Assistant Stock Controller

Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:
The Assistant Stock Controller will support the Stock Controller in managing stock levels to ensure efficient business operations. This role includes receiving and distributing goods, overseeing store-keeping requirements, and assisting store personnel with daily duties.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Stock Management:

• Take responsibility for stock under control.
• Maintain stock at optimal levels to support operations without shortages.
• Assist the Store Manager in managing and maintaining stock efficiently.

Service Level:

• Provide support to all departments.
• Investigate and resolve stock-related queries promptly.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery logistics.

Compliance:

• Ensure work is conducted according to company policies and procedures.
• Assist with stock counts and audits.
• Manage transfer and receipt transactions of fuel and other stock items.
• Audit transfer orders, shipments, and GRVs.

Housekeeping:

• Maintain compliance with housekeeping standards and procedures, including Safety, Environment, and Food Safety.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Matric certificate.
• Qualification in Storekeeping or Warehousing.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in storekeeping, warehousing, and stock management.
• Exposure to Microsoft Navision (NAV) is advantageous.
• Strong customer service orientation and administrative skills.
• Solution-driven with attention to detail.
• Good planning, verbal, and written communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Leadership and management capabilities.
• Accuracy, assertiveness, and the ability to perform under pressure.
• Proactive approach to work.
