About the Program

As an R&D Senior Process Engineer, you will lead process optimization and innovation initiatives from a research and development perspective. This role drives Design to Value (DtV) projects, ensures sustainable product solutions, and collaborates across global and regional teams to deliver high-quality, consumer-focused products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the DtV agenda with a strong focus on process engineering and optimization.
  • Provide timely updates in project team meetings to support informed decision-making.
  • Manage the Sustainability budget, track spend, approve purchase orders, and communicate updates to the global sustainability budget owner.
  • Own the Design to Value and Product Sustainability agenda, collaborating with global platform teams, AMESA sustainability owners, marketing, supply chain, commercialization, and business capability teams.
  • Lead formula design, lab and factory trials, process design, nutritional assessments, shelf-life studies, sensory evaluations, and other technical validations.
  • Supervise and mentor WIL students, supporting innovation development and shelf-life validations in collaboration with the Packaging team.
  • Train WIL students to maintain product specifications, and drive qualification of new or alternative raw materials with GP, BC, and SQA prior to launch.
  • Manage and lead the Technical stage gate process, ensuring timely engagement from Marketing, Operations, and cross-functional R&D teams for commercialization approvals.
  • Collaborate with R&D Functional teams and Supply Chain to develop food-safe, consumer-centric, profitable, and scientifically sound recipes, supporting successful implementation.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, or Engineering with 5+ years of R&D or related technical experience.
  • Strong understanding of R&D methodologies, vision, and tools.
  • Excellent communication, technical, planning, reporting, and negotiation skills.
  • Disciplined with filing and record-keeping systems, adaptable to change.
  • Ability to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
  • High standards, innovative mindset, and continuous improvement orientation.
  • Passion for creativity and innovation within a commercially driven environment.
  • Culturally sensitive and flexible when working with diverse teams.
  • Self-starter with strong motivation and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and complex environments.
