Job Description

Purpose of the Job

Tekkie Town is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Store Manager to lead store operations and deliver exceptional customer service. The role focuses on achieving optimal sales performance through effective merchandise presentation, strong team leadership, and the development of a customer-driven store environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales and profit targets through the effective management of store resources
  • Safeguard all store assets including stock, cash, physical equipment, employees, and customers
  • Set daily, weekly, and monthly sales and lay-by targets for staff and monitor performance against set budgets
  • Take corrective action where sales targets or operational standards are not being met
  • Ensure store layouts and visual merchandising meet company standards and guidelines
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a customer-focused store environment
  • Maintain accurate and compliant administrative procedures relating to stockroom management, markdowns, and lay-by transactions
  • Ensure effective merchandise replenishment and maintain high housekeeping standards across the store
  • Lead, recruit, and develop staff to build a motivated and customer-oriented team
  • Provide guidance, training, and ongoing support to ensure staff perform efficiently and professionally

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in store management is essential
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on creating positive customer experiences
  • Proven management skills with the ability to develop and support team members
  • Strong planning, organisational, and control abilities
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with retail systems
  • Working knowledge of budgeting and financial management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment
  • High level of integrity, initiative, and professional responsibility
