Sales Representative – Value Logistics
Purpose of the Role
The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling Value services with a strong focus on Value Truck Rental while cross-selling additional solutions including Value Logistics, Linehaul, Value Equipment, Fridge Fleet, Freightpak, Warehousing, Clearing and Forwarding, Moving Billboards, and Express services. The role focuses on building strong client relationships, identifying customer needs, and driving revenue growth by delivering the most suitable logistics and transport solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
• Gather and analyse information regarding clients’ transport, distribution, and related expenditure
• Evaluate potential business opportunities and apply focus factors to prioritise key clients
• Maintain awareness of competitors operating within the assigned market area
• Build strong relationships with customers to develop trust and long-term partnerships
• Identify customer service requirements and provide suitable quotations for the appropriate Value services
• Expand the existing customer base by understanding client operations and cross-selling Value services
• Close sales opportunities and secure new business agreements
• Target and manage national account opportunities
• Maintain knowledge of existing client contracts with Value
• Ensure services delivered remain aligned with the current needs of customers
• Develop a strong understanding of customer businesses to identify opportunities for growth
• Add value to every client interaction by maintaining clear objectives for each customer visit
• Ensure Value service levels are maintained in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
• Maintain regular and consistent contact with key decision-makers and business influencers
• Continuously update product knowledge to remain informed about all Value services
• Identify client concerns and resolve queries promptly, including invoice queries, claims, and proof of delivery documentation
• Maintain a professional image and represent the company positively at all times
• Follow and enforce company policies and operational procedures
• Submit all required sales reports accurately and within required timelines
• Complete sales performance reports as required by management
• Meet team expectations, sales budgets, and performance targets set by management
• Assist with additional tasks or duties requested by management that align with the role and organisational objectives
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Experience working within a sales environment
• Proficiency in English and Afrikaans
