About the Role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a results-driven Brand Manager to join the team. The main objective of this role is to drive brand growth within the organisation and ensure that all products, services, and product lines associated with the brand effectively connect with both current and potential customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening brand presence, supporting sales initiatives, and ensuring consistent brand messaging across all platforms.
Minimum Requirements
Essential
- Grade 12 / Matric
- 5 to 8 years of experience in Marketing and Brand Management
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of retail operations, promotions, sales, stock management, and reporting
Advantageous
- Previous management experience within a retail environment
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Implement brand and sales strategies at store level in line with industry standards
- Ensure all strategies comply with relevant industry legislation
- Regularly review brand strategies to evaluate performance and make necessary adjustments to improve sales outcomes
- Promote and champion the brand internally to ensure alignment across departments
- Oversee the implementation of promotional activities and product campaigns
- Conduct market research to stay informed about customer trends and anticipate future market demands
- Analyse the performance of marketing campaigns and prepare detailed reports
- Review financial performance reports, monitor budget variances, and implement corrective actions where required
Stock Control
- Monitor stock levels and sales performance to ensure stores remain adequately stocked to support customer demand
- Recommend or prepare store orders based on historical sales data and projected demand
- Maintain stock levels within established targets, including during promotional periods
Branding
- Manage all branding materials including maintenance, storage, and ordering of indoor and outdoor branding assets
- Develop and maintain brand guidelines, style guides, brand vision, and value propositions for both short- and long-term strategies
- Oversee the development of in-store signage programmes to ensure consistent messaging and brand presentation
Product Launch
- Present new product launches, marketing materials, business objectives, and communication strategies to internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain strong relationships with distributors and suppliers
- Create and manage promotional materials to support product branding
- Coordinate the selection, ordering, and distribution of informational and promotional resources
