About the Role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a qualified Beauty Therapist to join the Beauty Salon team. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the range of skincare and body treatments available at Dis-Chem Beauty Salons while delivering professional treatments and exceptional client care. This role focuses on building strong client relationships and ensuring a high standard of service during every treatment.

Minimum Requirements

Essential

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Relevant 2-year National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum of 12 months’ practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment
• Computer literate
• Strong numerical skills
• Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous

• Relevant 3-year National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent salon experience to all customers
• Perform treatments such as facials, waxing, massages, manicures, and pedicures in accordance with Dis-Chem standards
• Respond to customer queries, complaints, and compliments while providing feedback where required
• Stay updated on new products, treatment techniques, and service developments
• Manage salon stock levels according to operational requirements
• Ensure all salon equipment is clean, sanitary, and fully operational at all times

Competencies

Essential

• Knowledge of skin anatomy, physiology, and contraindications related to skin and body treatments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Target-driven with the ability to meet deadlines

Advantageous

• Experience with soft laser treatments, Bio-Magnetic therapy, microdermabrasion, slimming treatments, and spray tanning
• Additional training in laser or advanced salon equipment
• Bilingual communication skills

Special Conditions of Employment

• Able to travel to and from the store
• Physically fit and able to perform massage, facial, and body treatments
• South African citizen
