Forklift Technician – Value Logistics

About the Role
The Forklift Technician is responsible for performing mechanical and technical tasks on forklifts, including stripping, cleaning, assembling, and repairing components. This role ensures all work is completed to OE specifications while maintaining safety, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate vehicles for defects before performing repairs.
• Compile technical reports outlining required repairs.
• List and source spare parts necessary for repairs.
• Strip forklift components and clean parts, assessing for wear and damage.
• Assemble components using new and reused parts as required.
• Identify system or component failures, consult with team leader and workshop foreman, and record findings on job cards.
• Document all tasks, parts used, and time spent on job cards.
• Service and repair forklifts according to OE specifications and schedules.
• Perform standby or breakdown duties after hours when required.
• Maintain high levels of productivity and efficiency.
• Guide, train, and monitor repair shop assistants and semi-skilled artisans.
• Report unsafe working conditions or faulty equipment to team leaders or foremen.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Assist with operational functions as needed.
• Maintain professional conduct and adhere to company dress code.
• Ensure daily housekeeping and Health and Safety standards are met.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Red Seal Qualification
• 2+ years of relevant experience advantageous
