Job Description
Overall Purpose of the Role
The Fitment Quality Inspector is responsible for managing and maintaining high-quality standards within Fidelity Secure Drive operations. The role focuses on ensuring proper installation of tracking systems, addressing customer-related concerns, and representing the company in matters related to fitment quality when required.
Key Responsibilities
Resource Management
- Effectively manage and maintain all allocated resources required for daily operations.
Vehicle Management
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean and well maintained.
- Monitor and manage traffic offences related to the assigned vehicle.
- Ensure the vehicle remains roadworthy at all times.
Tools and Equipment
- Safeguard and properly maintain all tools issued for operational duties.
- Ensure all equipment is functional and available when needed.
Stock Control
- Conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or missing stock items promptly.
Mobile Devices
- Ensure all mobile devices remain operational.
- Monitor and manage data usage responsibly.
Uniform and Professional Appearance
- Maintain a clean and presentable uniform in accordance with PSIRA standards.
- Ensure personal hygiene and professional appearance are maintained at all times.
Operational Support
- Provide on-the-job training and guidance to technicians when required.
- Respond to and resolve customer complaints effectively.
- Offer product support both onsite and remotely.
- Handle technical queries from clients and internal teams.
- Assist with installations and fitment tasks when necessary.
Technical Responsibilities
- Complete hardware installations according to company standards and required timelines.
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and installation of vehicle tracking systems.
- Monitor and maintain fitment quality across all installations.
- Conduct technical evaluations and assist with repair processes.
- Implement new fitment techniques in line with OEM fitment guidelines.
- Apply specialized installation techniques to improve installation quality and efficiency.
Compliance and Development
- Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Participate in training initiatives to continuously develop technical and professional skills.
- Provide clear and comprehensive feedback to relevant internal stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Matric certificate.
- Valid driver’s license (Code B).
- Clear criminal record.
- PSIRA Grade C certification.
- Trade test in motor electrical electronics or a similar field preferred.
- Auto-electrician qualification will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 6–10 years of experience in the installation of vehicle tracking systems.
