QC Inspector – FlySafair Careers

Job Description
The QC Inspector at FlySafair Careers is responsible for ensuring full compliance with aviation quality standards across aircraft maintenance operations. This role focuses on conducting inspections, overseeing quality control processes, supporting investigations, and maintaining regulatory compliance in line with SACAA and organisational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control inspections on aircraft interiors, exteriors, parts, and tooling used in maintenance activities
  • Prepare aircraft for Certificates of Airworthiness inspections, acting as Project Manager where required
  • Provide QC oversight for FlySafair aircraft operating domestically, regionally, and internationally
  • Conduct and support investigations into operational occurrences
  • Identify gaps in departmental quality control processes and recommend improvements
  • Carry out ad hoc duties as assigned by the QA Manager
  • Issue, control, and manage AMO certification approvals
  • Support the QA Manager with chairing and coordinating meetings
  • Attend relevant meetings, including Maintenance, Safety Action Group, Compliance, Operations, and Aircraft Survey meetings
  • Assist with authorising and issuing Company Authorisations for Technical and Flight Engineers
  • Perform random inspections during daily turnarounds with focus on procedures and maintenance instructions
  • Work closely with maintenance teams during A-checks and higher maintenance events to ensure compliance with procedures and task completion
  • Conduct random inspections of maintenance areas prior to close-up, considering prior adjustments
  • Sample and review maintenance documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Compile monthly quality control activity reports
  • Assist with the development and revision of quality-related procedures
  • Coordinate and update the Manual of Procedures, Quality Assurance Manual, and work instructions

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification (essential)
  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s License, current or expired (essential)
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in aviation maintenance (essential)
  • Proven exposure to a Quality Control function (essential)
  • Strong product knowledge, preferably with Boeing 737 aircraft and associated engines
  • Sound understanding of SACAA regulations, including Parts 21, 43, 64, 66, 91, 121, 140, 141, 145, and 187
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Advantageous Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Quality Management
  • Safety Management Systems training
  • Aircraft Incident and Accident Investigation training
  • IOSA Auditor training experience
