Job Description

Overall Purpose:
The Creditors Clerk is responsible for managing accounts payable efficiently and accurately, ensuring that all supplier payments, reconciliations, and related financial processes are completed on time. The role reports directly to the Bookkeeper and supports the smooth financial operations of the Cape Town branch.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric Certificate.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in creditors systems and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; SAP experience advantageous.
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
  • Must have own transport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow up on vendor statements, invoices, and discrepancies daily.
  • File and sort invoices, reconciliations, and supplier documentation.
  • Prepare and process monthly accrual journals.
  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly cash outflows.
  • Handle petty cash and cash book-related invoices and payments.
  • Perform supplier reconciliations and reconcile purchase orders to invoices.
  • Ensure accurate invoice capture in SAP and Key Fleet systems.
  • Receive and check payment requisitions according to company policies.
  • Process payments via online banking and verify supplier banking details.
  • Respond to creditor and staff queries regarding payments.
  • Load new creditors into the SAP system and provide monthly creditors’ age analysis.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned to support the finance team.
