Driver – Anova Vacancies

Main Purpose of the Role
The Driver ensures the safe transportation of staff and outreach teams, manages the mobile clinic or work vehicle, and supports logistics, including loading and unloading equipment. The role also provides assistance to Wellness Counsellors, Peer Educators, and Human Rights Ambassadors by introducing programmes, delivering health education, supporting harm reduction, capturing data, and reporting outreach activities.

Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities

Transport and Logistics

  • Safely transport staff to outreach sites, clinics, and offices.
  • Manage and maintain mobile clinic/work vehicles.
  • Keep accurate fuel, mileage, and maintenance records.
  • Load and unload field equipment such as chairs, tents, and generators.
  • Report vehicle damages and comply with road safety regulations.
  • Adhere to Anova’s vehicle policy and submit weekly vehicle inspection checklists.

Outreach Support

  • Assist outreach teams by providing youth-centred health information, self-care guidance, and risk reduction education.
  • Support Human Rights Ambassadors in providing education on GBV, PrEP, and sexual reproductive health.
  • Facilitate linkage of HIV-positive clients to care and ART initiation.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control standards and proper management of testing supplies.

Administration Support

  • Capture and submit client data daily to meet programme targets.
  • Perform delegated administrative tasks while maintaining professional conduct.
  • Build relationships with health facilities to support client linkage.
  • Submit timesheets and relevant administrative records on time.

Data Capture and Data Management

  • Follow SOPs for data management and quality processes.
  • Pre-retrieve client folders and capture data into electronic medical record systems.
  • Conduct routine data audits and submit reports on key indicators.
  • Participate in data quality improvement activities and generate line lists for patient and programme management.
  • Maintain proper filing and management of all programme data.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance regarding staff access to information systems.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence with PDP.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ professional driving experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
