Role Purpose
Supervise resources to ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and operational plans in order to achieve targets and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • 1–2 years’ retail experience
  • Assertive with strong attention to detail
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Conscientious and policy-driven approach
  • Strong customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to monitor and develop team performance
  • Strong sense of urgency and accountability
  • Team player with a thorough and accurate working style
  • PC literate

Key Responsibilities

Operational Standards

  • Maintain hygiene, housekeeping, cold chain, and safe working standards on the sales floor and in backup areas
  • Ensure all security procedures are followed at all times
  • Ensure merchandising and display standards are executed timeously and maintained
  • Conduct regular quality checks, rotate stock, and remove damaged or expired products
  • Prevent wastage, shrinkage, and damages
  • Ensure accurate pricing and correct label placement

Administration & Compliance

  • Complete all required administration and documentation accurately and on time
  • Plan and implement sales promotions in line with company guidelines

Customer Service

  • Proactively engage customers, advise on products, and handle queries professionally and courteously
  • Listen to customer needs and provide appropriate products or services

Stock & Financial Control

  • Monitor budgets including expenses, turnover, and gross profit, and take corrective action where required
  • Optimise stock levels to ensure availability without overstocking through effective ordering and returns management

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate effectively with employees, management, customers, and suppliers

Equipment & Asset Care

  • Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order and operated according to standards

People Management

  • Manage and motivate employees to maintain operational standards
  • Conduct performance management and support development of team members
  • Implement disciplinary processes in line with company procedures

Multiskilling

  • Work across multiple departments as required to support operational needs
