Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • 2–4 years’ relevant retail or inventory management experience

Key Responsibilities

Merchandising Management

  • Execute planograms 100% in line with company guidelines
  • Rotate stock according to policy and SOP on the sales floor and in backup areas
  • Maintain department merchandising and cleanliness standards at all times
  • Implement standards for promotional space and execute promotional communications accurately
  • Ensure backup area standards are consistently maintained with full stock representation on the sales floor
  • Escalate ongoing stock challenges to the Store Manager
  • Ensure the department adheres to all H&S standards and processes in line with SOP
  • Understand customer needs and communicate insights to demand planning

Systems Management

  • Conduct gap scans to identify out-of-stocks
  • Identify, count, and record out-of-stocks and overstocks
  • Generate Excel reports from SAP, complete required stock information, and submit to Demand Planning
  • Process IDTs via SAP in line with procedures
  • Action reduced-to-clear items on SAP as per SOP
  • Regularly check and respond to electronic communications during working hours

Customer Services Management

  • Resolve customer complaints and manage special requests professionally
  • Advise customers on product selection and availability

People Management & Development

  • Evaluate performance of direct reports against agreed objectives and standards
  • Review staffing needs and contribute to staff scheduling
  • Communicate new initiatives and store/department performance to the team
  • Motivate and engage team members to deliver high performance
  • Identify training needs and support ongoing development
  • Coach staff and supervisors to improve capability and results

Finance & Administration

  • Ensure all equipment is well maintained and in effective working order
  • Maintain general maintenance standards within the department
  • Control and follow up on departmental expenses
  • Monitor performance against budget and investigate variances
  • Monitor waste levels and ensure all procedures are followed consistently
