Dischem Vacancies is building a dynamic talent pool of skilled Cashier professionals for upcoming opportunities within our Ballito stores. Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience in cashier or till operations
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Strong numerical ability
  • Good command of the English language
  • Basic customer service skills
  • Willing and able to work retail hours

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional service in line with company customer service policies and procedures
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers
  • Report customer feedback, complaints, and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management
  • Maintain required customer turnover rates
  • Stay informed about current promotions and sales initiatives
  • Ensure a safe environment for colleagues and customers
  • Apply the company’s 5-star communication principles consistently
  • Manage and safeguard all cash flow processes
  • Obtain supervisor approval for line voids and price changes
  • Process merchandise exchanges and authorised returns
  • Accurately transact all forms of payment, including cash, cards, vouchers, and coupons
  • Process loyalty programme transactions and partner rewards cards
  • Follow standard operating procedures for cash drops and safe handling
  • Protect personal access codes and passwords
  • Ensure all items leaving the store are scanned and paid for
  • Secure all cash within the till and handle daily takings confidentially
  • Identify and report suspicious activities to management
  • Assist customers with queries related to store merchandise
  • Comply with all security policies and procedures

  • Strong knowledge of cash register operations and cash drawer management
  • Understanding of sales processing, refunds, and payment handling
