Operations Coordinator – Sasol Careers

Purpose of the Role
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for administering the Management of Change process in line with site-specific procedures to ensure operational changes are managed safely and effectively. The role supports assigned operating units by ensuring compliance with management systems, leading ISO compliance activities, managing the Sasol Action Management system, and supporting audits to maintain high standards of safety, environmental, and operational compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment while ensuring environmental compliance within the area of responsibility
  • Administer and coordinate the Management of Change process in accordance with site procedures
  • Maintain and control compliance-related documentation for assigned units
  • Act as a liaison between Operations and functional teams to ensure timely MOC approvals and PSSRs
  • Coordinate with Governance, Assurance & Risk and Safety, Health & Environmental teams to ensure accuracy of compliance materials
  • Conduct routine audits of the MOC process to identify improvement opportunities and drive compliance
  • Perform audits supporting ISO, safety, and environmental standards and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure all assigned management system reviews and documentation are completed accurately and on time
  • Gather and analyse information from audits, surveys, and interviews to confirm compliance with company procedures and regulations
  • Provide management system coaching to peers and contractors as required
  • Support post-incident audits, prepare detailed reports, and perform additional duties as assigned
  • Build and maintain constructive working relationships with managers, peers, and key stakeholders
  • Engage regularly with stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance and alignment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business or technical field, or
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial, manufacturing, or technical support environments

Experience and Knowledge Requirements

  • Experience with OSHA, environmental, or other regulatory frameworks is advantageous
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using SAP with knowledge of basic transactions is preferred
