Maintenance Operator Gr 2 Electrical x2 – Sasol Careers

Role Purpose
The Maintenance Operator Gr 2 Electrical supports the maintenance, operation, and inspection of electrical systems and equipment. The role ensures reliable plant performance through safe work practices, accurate fault finding, effective repairs, and efficient field data collection to achieve optimal productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply and maintain safety standards in the working environment at all times
• Perform maintenance activities in line with approved plans and schedules
• Operate electrical systems and equipment safely and effectively
• Participate in daily morning meetings to review work assignments and priorities
• Conduct plant inspections and carry out electrical repairs to ensure equipment reliability
• Identify and diagnose electrical faults using appropriate methods and tools
• Participate in root cause analyses and provide accurate feedback to RCA teams
• Provide regular and clear feedback to supervisors and customers on work progress
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and comply with waste disposal procedures
• Capture accurate maintenance history to support renewals, upgrades, and critical spare replacements
• Conduct My IMS inspections to support plant sustainability and compliance
• Attend and actively participate in toolbox talks, PDAs, and RCAs to enhance plant safety and stability
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the work area
• Attend required training, courses, and seminars to improve skills and competence
• Identify personal development needs and align them with the Personal Development Plan
• Support business goals by meeting deadlines and operational targets

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 with Mathematics, English, and Science, or N3 with Mathematics and Engineering Science
• NQF Level 2 Occupational Qualification
• Valid Driver’s License Code C1 (old Code 10)
• 1 to 2 years of relevant electrical maintenance experience
