Role Overview

As a Branch Consultant / Financial Advisor, you will promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM) products and increase market share by delivering professional financial advice and exceptional client service. You will create opportunities for client optimisation and cross-selling of value-added products, ensuring clients’ financial needs are met effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Delivery

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of SRM product ranges.
  • Assess clients’ financial goals and provide suitable products or solutions to meet those needs affordably.
  • Inform clients about new or updated products and adjust portfolios as necessary.
  • Validate client information according to product and regulatory requirements and submit new business through the correct channels.
  • Conduct due diligence to identify and flag potential risks.
  • Manage daily appointments while accommodating walk-in or non-scheduled clients.

In-Branch Client Service and Retention

  • Service and manage client profiles to maintain client relationships and retention.
  • Send payment reminders, follow up on queries, and provide ongoing client support.
  • Monitor clients “Not Taken Up” (NTUs) and take corrective action as needed.
  • Ensure client payment persistency for both the branch and the client.
  • Understand client risk profiles and proactively identify areas requiring support.
  • Guide clients on alternative payment arrangements and ensure proper processing.
  • Deliver in-branch service in line with client experience standards.
  • Resolve client queries efficiently or escalate to appropriate stakeholders while providing regular feedback.

Quality, Compliance, and Continuous Development

  • Stay current with compliance, quality standards, and CPD requirements.
  • Identify and report potential risks or fraudulent activity.
  • Maintain accurate records of advice and log all activities per regulatory and operational standards.

Monthly Planning and Reporting

  • Report daily activities using relevant technology platforms.
  • Collate data for weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Retail Branch Manager.

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum 1-year experience in sales or marketing; experience in insurance branches advantageous.
  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • RE5 advantageous.
  • FAIS Compliant (Wealth Management) as per DOFA requirements.
  • Class of Business training to be completed within 12 months of employment.
