Role Overview
As a Sanlam Financial Adviser, you will provide clients with professional, tailored financial advice, planning, and products to meet their unique needs. You will grow and maintain sustainable client relationships, driving both loyalty to the Sanlam brand and long-term business growth. This role requires compliance, ethics, and a focus on building and sustaining the Sanlam Group business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Growth
- Execute marketing plans and meet targets for business development as per distribution strategy.
- Apply market segmentation and client profiling to support sales growth.
- Achieve revenue, activity, and brand promotion targets while ensuring clients are treated fairly.
2. Networking and Lead Generation
- Engage with potential clients through face-to-face interactions, business networks, social connections, and presentations.
- Transform trusted relationships into business opportunities and expand existing client relationships.
- Identify marketing gaps and sales opportunities within the middle-high and affluent markets.
- Implement focused campaigns and leverage social media to generate leads.
- Monitor client activities such as policy maturities, cancellations, and surrenders to create new opportunities.
3. Client Consultations and Sales
- Conduct comprehensive fact-finding and financial needs analyses using appropriate tools or with Para-Planner support.
- Provide professional financial planning advice and present solutions aligned with clients’ needs.
- Ensure compliance in all client interactions, documenting information and updating records accurately.
- Review client portfolios annually to ensure ongoing relevance and effectiveness of financial plans.
4. Client Service
- Maintain professional, ethical, and courteous interactions with all clients.
- Resolve client queries promptly or escalate through appropriate channels.
- Deliver excellent, value-added service to retain clients and prevent loss to competitors.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills to serve clients effectively.
- Build and sustain long-term client relationships.
5. Monitoring and Reporting
- Document contacts, consultations, and appointments.
- Track issued business and revenue against targets.
- Maintain updated client records and workflow entries.
- Report activities weekly and monthly as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12
- FAIS “Fit and Proper” requirements and Regulatory Examination successfully completed if registered with FSCA for more than 24 months
